Cycling in Almeria - The next phase

Hola from sunny Almeria. The conditions here are perfect as we move into Phase 3 of easing the lockdown. The health workers and frontline workers have done an amazing job and continue to do so. The Spanish government have handled the Pandemic well and the phased easing is working at the moment. No deaths in Spain for the last few days.

We are now turning our attention to hopefully seeing the return of tourism in early July. We will be working hard over the next few weeks and months, researching and preparing new routes, reconnecting with our contacts in accommodation, restaurants, cycle hire and be building new connections and getting fitter (hopefully).

Some good news this week from the Junta de Andalucia about the EuroVelo 8 route in Almeria. Sustainable tourism is the message and cycling tourism in particular. The signing of a 94km section through the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park is a welcome addition and highlights the attractions of cycle tourism in Almeria. The delegation saying Almeria offers "the best beaches and climate to recieve European tourist who are lovers of the outdoors" Here is the link to the full article.

Also check out easyJet. They have some great deals for September and October. An amzing time to cycle in Almeria.

See you soon.
